Mobile antiterror barrier ARMIS ONE at the Züri Fäscht

The mobile terror barrier ARMIS ONE, developed by Consel Group, protected Zurich's largest public festival, the Züri Fäscht, from terrorist attacks with vehicles from 5 to 7 July 2019. The mobile vehicle barrier was part of a comprehensive security plan.

Most effective mobile vehicle barrier in Europe

As part of an intensive selection process, the Zurich city police decided in April to use the barriers designed and developed in Switzerland. In a crash test according to the international standards IWA 14-1 and ASTM F2656 with 7.2t@48km/h ARMIS ONE achieved top marks. With a penetration depth of 6.6 metres, ARMIS ONE is currently one of Europe's most effective vehicle barriers in the field of mobile barriers with manually folding barrier segments.

Positive feedback

The reactions to the new terrorist barricades are consistently positive. In an interview on TopOnline, the Zurich city police are very satisfied. The police officers had informed the visitors on site about the purpose of the blockades and received positive feedback throughout.

A major contribution to the high level of satisfaction was made by the simple operation of the barrier. The locking elements can be lowered or raised manually without great effort and very quickly. This can be seen in the application video.
