Protective street furniture

Fixed planters and benches for protection against terrorism

Benches, planters, sunbeds, waste bins... Protective street furniture is already ubiquitous in major cities like London. Because terror protection can also be quite inconspicuous and yet effective - with maximum acceptance on the part of urban planners and the population.

The threat to urban areas and to people spending time outdoors in cities has increased further. Existing safety equipment often no longer meets the requirements. It is difficult to integrate new systems or they are not accepted by urban planners and the general public. New approaches are needed! It is important that city planners and those responsible for safety recognise this: There is no uniform and single answer to the security question. Rather, the protection of public spaces requires a combination of the most diverse systems, taking into account current and future security needs. Protective street furniture is one of many ways of sensibly protecting public spaces.

Protective street furniture - the hidden protection

They fit perfectly into the cityscape and still offer reliable protection against amok drives: Protective street furniture is becoming more and more important worldwide in the protection against terrorism.

Great acceptance by the population

London demonstrates this: more and more protective urban furniture is replacing or supplementing martial security facilities. Especially in cities like London, where the threat of terrorism is latent, people do not want to be constantly reminded of it. Protective urban furniture blends in perfectly with the cityscape when cleverly chosen. An invisible protection that also offers added value through additional seating areas and greenery. This is one of the reasons why protecting urban furniture is so well accepted by the population.

Protective urban furniture offers reliable protection

Whether individually or as part of an overall concept: Protective street furniture such as fixed benches, loungers or planters offer comprehensive protection against approaching vehicles. Depending on the model and type of installation, models PAS68 and IWA 14-1 are certified.

Bench SERP

The modular bench system SERP made of cast stone allows different arrangements with straight and curved modules. This creates borders between areas with plants and areas that are often used by pedestrians. Five bench options are available, each with a different radius.

Additional modules:

  • LED light strips
  • Recess for seating made of wood-plastic composite
  • different colours available

Bench system METROLINIA

The Metrolinia collection is made of prefabricated concrete elements, with Iroko wooden slats for the seating modules. The system consists of modular building blocks, which allow an almost unlimited configuration of seats, benches and planters. The high strength is achieved with a special construction and ground anchoring.

Planter Classica

The Bellitalia Classica self-levelling planter in precious stone concrete is available in two sizes: 300-litre Classica 1220 and the 600-litre Classica 1620. Classica planters are sandblasted and provided with a transparent anti-fouling coating or, on request, with nanotechnology and/or anti-graffiti products.

ARMIS Planter

This planter can be anchored in the ground with a special construction and thus offers reliable protection against enemy attacks with vehicles. Special holding devices allow easy lifting and moving with a forklift truck or small crane. Available fixed or removable.
